James Spencer Oakley, 62, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2009 at Baptist Hospital Memphis. Spencer was born on January 11, 1947, the son of Jimmie and Fern Oakley. He graduated from Kingsbury High School and received his marketing degree from the University of Memphis. Spencer was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving his country during the Vietnam War. After returning from the war, he started working with his father at the family owned and operated business, “Oakley’s Picture Frames.” Spencer was a member of the Model A Club. He enjoyed traveling especially to the beach and spending time with his granddaughter. He is survived by his two daughters Jennifer Oakley and Courtney Jackson, and granddaughter Evelyn Presley Jackson. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2009, at 2:30 p.m. with a visitation starting at 1:30 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery.
