I'm Joe Caldwell who graduated in 1962 with the help of my girlfriend who is now my wife. I would like to hear from any of the old 1962 grads. I was a thug then but retired from the Memphis Fire Department as Chief and retired from the military as Chief Master Sergeant (E-9) There isn't an E-10 I married Judy Crook who graduated in 1964 and we have two children and 4 grand children

Hey Mr. Hooker, Good luck in finding the star athletes. I graduated in 1980 and Randy Gay was my gym teacher as well as my softball coach. He took the job of girls softball coach the first year we had a team. We did okay for a first year team. I can't complain because I was actually the MVP the first year.
Both of my daughters are athletes, too. We live in a suburb of Cincinnati, OH and one is a softball player and one is a soccer player.
Good luck. Lynn Duke "Dukey" Dixon

Hello Kingsbury Alumni! I'm looking for a friend. Her name then was Angie Ramsey. She was there in 1986. But moved away. Please if you have any idea of how to get in touch with her, let me know.

I am the current principal at Kingsbury. I am trying to give the old school back some of its tradition. I want to have banners made to display in the gym of all the championships won in the past. I got some from the old annuals but a lot of sports were not listed. I am also looking to display banners of distinquished athletes that have graduated from Kingsbury. I have a few names of some but I am looking for others. I am looking for those that perhaps went on to star in college or professional also. If you have names/sport/position/college/year or championships won/when/sport, please email them to me at hookera@mcsk12.net I have Allie Prescott, Randy Gay, Mark May, Mike Butler, Ray Depreist, David Haththingy, Charlie Lea, Terry Padget, Marcus Bell, and Clarence Swearengen. I am sure that there are others in baseball, basketball, tennis, track, and football that I have missed. Help me restore some of the tradition to the old school. thanx alex hooker

Sir, There was a star basketball player at Kingsbury named Mike Butler. When I was at KHS (graduated 1977) there was a trophy case in one hallway with a number of pieces of memorabilia related to Mike. He went pro in the old ABA. More about Mike can be found at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_ButlerFor my own part, I am the owner of MemphisHistory.com. I have a book re. Memphis History that will be published in late July. If you have an interest in that then you may go onto Amazon.com and search for Memphis Then and Now by Russ Johnson. Our Memphis history site accepts no advertising and solicits no contributions. It is solely perpetuated by my wife and myself. If I can ever be of use to Kingsbury in the historical realm just let me know. My email is russ@fedex.com. Best regards, Russ Johnson
